We often hear about it and everyone gives their own definition, I did a speak about this topic in an entrepreneur workshop and I proposed my own definition:
More efficiency, less effort!
It was actually in Italian and I used a slang that sound like this โPoco sbatti, tanta resa!โ
Anyway, for me it is the set of changes that bring us to this result: to be more efficient and effective, with minimum effort.
Whether you are an athlete, a writer, a sales person or a marketer, digital transformation can help you, and this February we will discover together why it is so important and how to make it real.
Let's start from the beginning, analysing the two words:
๐ Transformation: the image that might come to our mind is that of a caterpillar which, by striving, changing, transforming itself, becomes a butterfly.
๐ป Digital, the image that could comes naturally on our mind, is something related to computers, to internet and maybe, robotics.
What about Digital Transformation?
This is the image that, for me, represents it most:
The image of a butterfly that is already able to fly, but changes into a bird to fly even further and then into a plane and a spaceship, to reach ever more distant destinations.
๐ The idea is not to change yourself in something completely new and different, but to improve something that already exists, to be more effective and efficient, in order to achieve new goals and more ambitious objectives.
๐ค That is why it is important for you, because it allows you to improve yourself, to improve your work, to become more efficient and to go further and further with your goals.
๐ In my experience as a Digital Manager, trainer and Scrum Master, I have discovered six main elements that allow the digital transformation:
1) Mindset: itโs fundamental for dealing with the whole transformation
2) People: they are the real actors, the engine of the change
3) Culture: the environment in which we are immersed, which may or may not facilitate us to experience the change.
4) Process: all those processes or routines that could potentially be changed and/or improved
5) Tools: all the tools that enable us to evolve
6) Technology: that can help us in this process of change.
In the next few weeks, we will tackle these six elements together and understand how, all together, they create the puzzle that leads us to achieve digital transformation.
๐ ๐ Do you want to know more or do you think it's very far away from you?
Let me know in the comments, I'm always happy to help you to learn more or if you'd like to have a sparring partner or to have a chat about this or other topics, feel free to leave a comment and I'll get back to you.
๐ A book that inspired me some of these thoughts and that I recommend to you is "The Technology Fallacy"; it talks about the importance of the elements I mentioned above in order not to fail in the digital transformation. You can find it here [LINK HERE].
